Just like me, Dr. Obire, I presume you are dissatisfied with the state of things in Delta State.

But the good news is that together we can take back our State. That is why I am running for the office of the Governor.

I do not have the tons of money available to some of my co-contestants. But I believe that with your commitment to donate, however small to the  campaign, we can take our State back.

Go ahead, make a donation to be part of the campaign for a new Delta – the kind of commitment that creates a grassroots campaign that is a pan-Delta movement capable of electing me and also capable of changing the course of our State.

Delta governorship aspirant, Obire, supporters quits APC to PPA

He showered encomiums on Dr. Obire for the courage, drive and determination to fix Delta State that is in the throes of death because of poor and corrupt leadership, saying that there will be a new lease of life in Delta with Dr. Obire as the governor, saying that the results of visionary leadership by a PPA government will be apparent even to the unwary”.

Dr. Obire, brimming with confidence in his chances of getting elected into office as Governor, posited that visionary leadership is not rocket science. He averred that he has put together a manifesto that would be carefully implemented to positively change the fortunes of the State. “We cannot continue to suffer in the midst of the abundance that God has imbued our State with”, he averred.

“While pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. Deltans now have the opportunity, through their PVCs, to put an end to poverty, decaying infrastructure, poor healthcare, unemployment, etc, by supporting me”, he concluded

Why I turned my back on APC – Delta State Governorship Aspirant, Dr. Obire

Why I turned my back on APC – Delta State Governorship Aspirant, Dr. Obire

1. Your birthday was 12th Thursday, July and it fell on when you warming up for Delta State Governorship race, so what would you say is the journey so far, from birth till date?

My life has been ‘so far, so good’. I cannot thank God, my maker enough. I owe every attainment, every success that I have recorded to Him. God’s grace and favor, which I have in abundance, has no special qualification. This informs my unparalleled gratitude to Him. If I have to sum up my life from birth till date, I am delighted to say, it is ‘from nothing to something and to everything’ because God has been exceptionally good to me.

2. We understand you joined the race in Delta when the of Not Too Young To Serve takes its center stage before it was signed into law, what is your comment on this?

President Muhammadu Buhari scored a bull’s-eye by his prompt response of signing the Not Too Young To Run bill into law. It will encourage young people to contest elections and get into leadership positions. Prior to this time, the mantra has been, ‘the youths are the leaders of tomorrow’ yet no concerted efforts were made to ensure they assume leadership. The world over, the trend is leadership by young people. Nigeria has joined that league by encouraging her youths, who are warehouses of innovative ideas, to take over leadership. Over the next few years when the youth come on board in executive and legislative positions, Nigeria will witness a surge in sustainable development strides.

3. We have learnt you have left All Progressive Congress, APC, can you tell us why you left the party?

It is true that I turned my back on APC. I exited because the Party in Delta State has been in turmoil. Its leadership is at each other’s jugular with no hope of resolution of the crises in sight. This fight has given a bad name to the Party in the State. On one part of the struggle is a man who has become a professional gubernatorial election contestant. He believes it is his birthright to contest for the governorship whether or not he is acceptable to the electorate or not. The other party to the internecine struggle for the structure of the party is hell bent on zoning the governorship to Delta North, thereby zoning me out.
I am in a hurry to bring sustainable development to my State, and the State will lose by zoning me out. I cannot afford to disappoint my teeming supporters, particularly the youths who see me as one of them, who has given them hope of a better life under my leadership as governor of the State.
It is my conviction that one’s locale of descent shouldn’t be a determining factor in visionary leadership; rather leadership should be determined by one’s character, capacity and competence. Without been immodest, I humbly aver that I have these attributes in abundance.

4. A lot of the persons we have seen contesting for the governorship position of the state are money bags, how do you intend to compete with them, knowing too well that elections is about finance?

It is true that I do not have tons of money that is available to some of the governorship aspirants. While I am not deterred by their financial war chest, I am convinced that we will fund the campaign enough to win the race. My decision to run for the governorship of Delta is divine. And no amount of resources can stand a divine mandate. While Goliath was fully decked with a helmet, armour, shield and sword to match, David was unprotected – no armour, helmet, shield or sword. He faced Goliath with a mere sling and pebbles. Yet David brought him down. My situation is akin. Even though I am coming up against financial Goliaths in the race, God has given the battle to me.

5. President Muhammadu Buhari has been in office for the past three years and also warming up to re-contest against the general view that he has failed the country and shouldn’t come back in 2019, what is your view?

Who says the President has failed? Let me quickly correct that erroneous impression. He hasn’t. It is the wailers and their ‘Herdsmedia’ that believe, albeit erroneously, that PMB has failed. That he has failed is a fallacy of thieves and looters who are scared stiff that more of them will be sent to jail in his second tenure. It is those who were looting our common patrimony that the President has stopped in their tracks that are baying for his blood. The President is God sent to save us from thieves who wanted to steal our future.
Mr. President has succeeded tremendously. He is laying the foundation for a greater Nigeria and he deserves a second term in office to consolidate on the gains he has made. While I have quit the APC in Delta State to enable me realize my divine mandate of governing Delta State, PMB is my Presidential Candidate. In my campaign rounds, I will campaign for him and vote him.

6. There are rumours making the rounds that your sponsors to run for the Delta State governorship election are from both North and United States of America, considering the wide spread of supports you are enjoying in Nigeria and Diaspora.

It is indubitable that I enjoy the support of many Nigerians in the diaspora, particularly the United States of America. Nigerians in the US are the most educated immigrants in that country. Education hones one’s foresight. With their education and global exposure, they have seen that my manifesto for Delta holds the ace for the State’s sustainable development and have keyed into my quest to turn things around for the better in Delta. I am proud of their support.

Additionally, I have been domiciled in Abuja for over 20 years. It is natural to make friends where one lives. So, I have a lot of friends from the North who are close to me.

7. You seem to be one of the youngest governorship aspirants not only in Delta state but across the country, what or how do you intend to wrest power from the PDP incumbent governor, Sen. Arthur Okowa if you are privilege to have the ticket of the party?

In Delta, I think I am the youngest out of all those that have signified intention to run for governor. But I wouldn’t know if I am the youngest governorship aspirant in Nigeria, currently.

8. How do I intend to wrest power from Okowa?

Hmmmmm! I wouldn’t disclose my strategies. No general goes to war and go to the mountain top to announce his war strategies. Yes, Okowa has been in government for almost four years. He has unrestricted access to the State’s resources and has amassed tons of money to spend to buy his way back. This wouldn’t help him. He has rewarded about 2500 persons spread across the State with political appointments in the vain hope that they will deliver him. Again, these wouldn’t be of any help either.
There is massive discontent in Delta State even among his political appointees and members of his Party. In private, they derisively refer to Delta State Government as ‘Okowa and Sons Ltd’, because the governor and his immediate family members and a few others are those benefitting from him. Recently, it was in the news that the Governor’s junior sib landed a slap across the face of the SSG! Even though this was denied, Deltans know the truth and are waiting for the opportunity to tell Okowa that Delta State is not Okowa and Sons Ltd.
Finally, I have always mentioned that mine is a divine project and God has helped me to recruit a crack team of strategists. We will run a campaign like no other in Delta and we will win convincingly.

9. We understand Delta state youths across the 36 states and those in Diaspora are pushing so strong to ensure you become the next governor, what would you say may have influenced their decision and how do you intend to control them?

I am a young man who God has blessed beyond measure. I am seen as successful. It is not surprising therefore, that young people who also form the bulk of voters across the State, country and in the diaspora have identified with my aspiration because they see me as one of them and a role model. I bank on them to win convincingly across the State.
I have promised that I wouldn’t betray their confidence in me. When we win the election, we will give them a great opportunity to serve as commissioners, SSAs, SAs, EAs, DGs, etc. Indeed, the youths, from 25 years up will make up a minimum of 50% of the State Exco. In Delta, it will be a new dawn and new deal for the youths.

THE CELEBRATION OF A QUINTESSENTIAL LEADER AND AN EMERGING GLOBAL COLOSSUS

THE CELEBRATION OF A QUINTESSENTIAL LEADER AND AN EMERGING GLOBAL COLOSSUS

Leaders, like other humans, dream. Their dreams are of immense importance since theirs directly affect the polity.

Within the leadership class, there are those who dream simple dreams and there are also great dreamers. Those who are great dreamers toil continuously day and night to ensure their great dreams come to fruition.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was a civil rights leader and a great dreamer.

He dreamed great dreams of racial equality, justice, fairness and all Americans living in peace and harmony irrespective of the color of their skin, when there was racial segregation. His dream was great and he worked hard to ensure it became reality.

Today is the birthday anniversary of an enigma, a great visionary and emerging uncommon political leader, Dr O’diakpo Obire, who is contesting for the seat of Governor of Delta State.

Young as he is, he is an emerging apotheosis of the type of leadership that Delta State needs at this time to rescue the ailing State from the chokehold of poor, corrupt and nepotistic leadership that has turned the State to a personal estate.

His humble beginnings notwithstanding, he has broken the glass ceiling and has become an international captain of industry and a top managerial technocrat of global reckoning.

Dr. Obire is the MD/CEO of Hatfield Group where his financial success has exposed him as an uncommon manager of men and materials.

He has traveled the world. And so, each time he is in Delta, he tears up because of the decaying infrastructure and palpable abject poverty that dot the landscape in the midst of abundant resources.

As a great visionary, he has great and vivid visions about our dear State which includes but not limited to building resilient infrastructure including roads built to last a lifetime, world class schools and hospitals, jobs for the teeming youths through making the State an industrial and tourist hub, etc. We are delighted to know that you have committed to replicate the Dubai miracle in Delta State.

We applaud your bold decision to step into the gubernatorial race to turn things around for the better in Delta State.  Indubitably, your quest to drive visionary leadership in Delta is divine because every once in a long while God raises a Moses to lead His people out of slavery. You’re the Moses whom God has given the mandate to liberate Deltans.

Happy birthday to quintessential leader, many happy returns and Godspeed to you Governor-to-be

Signed for and on behalf of Obire Campaign Organization

Obire Meets OSG Coordinators, Assures Of A Better Political Platform.

Obire Meets OSG Coordinators, Assures Of A Better Political Platform.

Foremost Governorship aspirant, Dr O’diakpo Obire yesterday in Sapele, met with the coordinators of Obire Support Group (OSG) from across the 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State.

The meeting had in attendance Dr O’diakpo Obire, Chief Felix Ekure, the State Coordinator, Obire Support Group (OSG), and Dr Prosper Awhoregba , Comrade Darlington, Comrade Emmanuel Obire and Hon Mark Odedede Darigos, Acting Director General, Director of Security, Director Finance and Director, Media and Publicity, respectively, Obire Campaign Organization (OCO), as well as the coordinators of OSG from the 25 LGAs of the State.

Dr Obire spoke on the need for the people of Delta State to have value re-orientation. He frowned at the practice of people extorting money from aspirants for elective positions. He also frowned at bribing the electorate with money or other material inducement to get their votes. This practice has made elections to be very expensive and produces people who are businessmen and women, and not leaders who have the interest of the citizenry at heart, he said.

“Our people must step up their game of choosing their leaders. We must uphold integrity in choosing our leaders because the future generation will hold us accountable for everything we do now”, he posited.

He urged the Coordinators of the group to take the good news of his manifesto of “Putting Deltans First” to every nook and cranny of the State, adding that his ambition to be Governor of Delta State is purely to serve the people of the State. He promised to transform the State into an industrial, tourist and economic hub.

On his part, Chief Felix Ekure applauded Dr Obire’s manifesto particularly as it detailed steps to create jobs for the teeming youths of the State.

Responding on behalf of the LGA Coordinators, Hon Yoruba Felix, Coordinator of Ughelli North chapter of OSG, said that the Coordinators were excited to hear from Dr Obire on his peerless vision for Delta State. He promised, on behalf of the LGA Coordinators, that they are returning to their respective Local Government Areas to commence the strategic move of extensive grassroots sensitization and mobilization to ensure electoral victory for Dr Obire at coming polls.

The Acting Director General of Obire Campaign Organization gave the vote of thanks. He expressed his appreciation to the coordinators for turning out in their numbers at short notice. He urged the Coordinators never to rest in their oars until the goal of winning the election is achieved. He told them that the new platform on which Dr. Obire will contest the governorship election will be unveiled, shortly.

What is the PRICE Nigerians/Deltans have to PAY for things to get better?

What is the PRICE Nigerians/Deltans have to PAY for things to get better?

The answers are very simple!

1. It is when the electorate STOP believing that election time is the period to extort money from aspirants.

2. It is when they STOP collecting money or any form of inducement before they can vote.

3. It is when they stop believing that whosoever pays higher is a better candidate and gets their votes and not credible and visionary candidates!

4. It is when the electorate stop looking forward to seeing the same old faces every election year!

5. It is when the citizenry stop making snide remarks about new entrants like: Who is he? We don’t know him. Where has he been? Does he have money? He’s not a popular face, etc, when they ought to look at his background, credibility and visions that such a candidate is offering!

6. It is when our teeming youths stop playing the role of political thugs by maiming, disturbing peaceful electoral process by snatching and stuffing ballot boxes and even killing perceived enemies!

7. It is when we stop looking at ethnicity and zoning (it’s our turn syndrome).

When we all come out to vote for credible and visionary candidates and not just money bags, then we will put our State on the path to sustainable development.

The President of France is a very young man. He was relatively unknown in French politics, yet the people believed in his ideology and visions. They freely donated money to fund his campaign and gave him a chance.

In Nigeria, the converse holds true. No one donates to aspirants, rather they extort money from them. This is the reason why our elections are prohibitively expensive.

Should we continue in this path of perdition? What can we do to make things to better? Is it okay for us to continue to see the same faces in our political stage every four years with no remarkable improvement in our living standards and public infrastructure?

The time to take our State back is now. The time to end the economic and political slavery is now. The time to reposition our youths, women and the economy is now. The time to see real development is now. The time to have good schools and excellent healthcare delivery system is now. The time to have good roads is now. The time to showcase what we have that will attract in-flow of Foreign Direct Investments is now! The time to reposition our civil service and system of governance is now!

We are fortunate to have our destiny in our hands. The PVC gives us the power to choose to end our suffering. While pain is inevitable, suffering is optional!

We cannot and should not choose to continue to suffer or wallow in poverty in the midst of abundance! Stand with Dr. O’diakpo Obire to free Delta from poor leadership….

Obire Media Team meets to strengthen commitments towards gubernatorial project

Obire Media Team meets to strengthen commitments towards gubernatorial project

…restates obligation for the actualization of the liberation mandate

In what could be described as a strategic reunion of a synergistic team partners, the Obire For Governor Media Team OGMT met yesterday at Richards Continental Hotels in Sapele, Delta State. In the course of the event, the team rededicated her commitments towards the realization of the Delta Change Revolutionary Mandate envisioned by Dr O’diakpo Obire (a frontline governorship aspirant in the State) and further deliberated on the priorities and strategies for the Obire Governorship Project to be successfully achieved in the upcoming general elections in Delta State.

During the event, the Director of Media and Publicity, Obire Campaign Organization, Hon Mark Odedede Darigos informed other members of the team that the exit of Dr Obire from APC Delta State chapter was not unconnected to the protracted crises arising from the Wards, LGAs, State congresses of the party in Delta State and the fall out of the same in the recently concluded APC National Convention in Abuja. “The tension rocking the Delta APC is a clog on the wheel of progress of the party”, he posited.

Also, in the course of the meeting, members of the group unanimously reaffirmed their unalloyed supports and unrelenting commitments towards the “Obire Guber Project” and maintained that as a top gubernatorial contender in Delta State, Dr Obire will always deliver if given any viable political platform. The group also maintained that what make Dr Obire stands out among other contestants for the governorship race in Delta State are that:

1- he is a leader who has the interests of the people of Delta State at heart and he has promised to carry the people along in the discharge of his duty if elected as the chief servant of the state.

2- he is a leader who strongly believes he will not stand behind his people to push them, rather he will place himself before the people to facilitate progress and inspire them to accomplish peace, prosperity and development in the State.

3- he has a high level of impeccable integrity and has displayed satisfying evidence of personal discipline, and as a law abiding gentleman, he has demonstrated respect for the rule of law and respect for human rights.

4- he has also shown the courage of conviction and commitment to the state if elected as Governor of Delta State.

5- he has an academic background and professional/business track records that clearly depict his experience in management of men and material. Thus, with his technocratic expertise and excellence, he will transform Delta State if elected as Governor of the State.

Conclusively, they uphold that the team will keep on devising the most effective strategies for grassroots mobilizations, supports and propagations of the “Delta Change Revolutionary Mandate”. They therefore called on the the people of the State to support Dr Obire massively due to his uncommon goodwill message and well crafted policy documents which he holds for the greater good of the people of Delta State.

Delta Governorship aspirant, Obire, quits APC.

Delta Governorship aspirant, Obire, quits APC.

-says too much rancour in Delta APC.

A governorship aspirant in Delta State on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Dr. O’diakpo Obire, yesterday withdrew from the party with his teeming supporters from across the 25 local government areas of the State because of what he described as “too much internal rancor, and too many self-seeking leaders of the party that have given the party a bad name in the State”.

The former APC governorship aspirant who made this pronouncement in a press statement he personally signed, said he is ‘indubitably convinced that his dreams for Delta are incongruous with and cannot be achieved on the platform of a crises prone political party.”

Dr. Obire said he is in the race to win it, and with his quest of ‘Putting Deltans First, he averred that he is uncomfortable with some leaders of the party clamoring for zoning the governorship ticket to a particular section of the State, instead of looking for aspirants with character, capacity and competence and with great visions like his humble self.

He said, “ In short order, I will inform my teeming supporters, political associates, interest groups committed to this project, and the people of Delta State of the platform to which I will shift my aspiration, in pursuance of the “Liberation Mandate” for our dear State, after extensive consultations and careful scrutiny.

“The need to attain peace, progress and sustainable development is a critical concern for political leadership. Today, our society is full of aspiring political leaders but sadly, very few live up to the leadership ideals they profess.

“In fact, good political leadership requires a combination of charisma and integrity, as well as the ability to assess a situation and make a decision based on what would be in the best interest of the people, with the willingness to stand up for what is right and maintaining the principles and practice of egalitarianism and fair play.

“Since its inception, Delta State All Progressive Congress has been challenged with one form of crises or the other. This has not helped to build, strengthen and prepare the party for the utmost task of taking over power from the People Democratic Party (PDP) which has mismanaged the resources of the State and crippled it since 1999.

“The crisis rocking the party further escalated following the parallel congresses held by the two groups battling for the soul of the party. On one front is the imported notion of zoning the governorship ticket of the party to a section of the State, a situation which negates the principle of popular participation and debases the true principles of internal democracy. And on the other, is a faction headed by an individual who believes it is his right to rule Delta State even when he has repeatedly failed at the polls for the past 16 years.

“Zoning shuts the door against the aspirations of some and exposes our polity to sectional leadership and quackery in the management of our common patrimony for the interest and benefit of the few rather than having a system that profits the entire citizenry of the State.

“At the just concluded APC National Convention of the party which held at the Eagle’s Square Abuja, it was evidently clear that the leadership of the APC in Delta State has failed to pursue a common ground for reconciliation and unity. This was demonstrated by organized violence by thugs reported to be loyal to leaders of the party in the State.
